Week 4 Recap: Crunch Time
The design has been chosen and now we are working on the final robot! The team has been working hard the whole time, and with the season drawing down to a close, our motivation only shows signs of growing.
To start off, our CAD model is mostly complete. Our plans for the robot have mostly been finalized and we are going to send the model to Boeing shortly.
Our frames are currently being worked on and it’s starting to come together! The grasping mechanism is making a lot of progress and is close to being fully operational with the exception of a few key parts. Unfortunately, the lifting mechanism is being delayed because a few parts haven’t arrived yet. On the electrical side, we are busy designing the electrical board. We currently have electrical frame in production and we are also getting cases to mount our pneumatics. In programming, we are building a scouting app as well as setting up our new driver station, Titanic.
We now have a new Safety Captain: Ray Dobson!
May “Big Brother” keep us safe through the season!
In other news, we had an informal Parent Night on Thursday. The goal of this meeting was to show our parents what we’ve been up to. We showed them the build process, our prototypes as well as the work on our final bot. This will not replace our “Rollout” event which will happen on the last week of build season.
Speaking of future events, we are going to the Carver Science Fair next Thursday, so we can showcase our robot, let the kids drive said robot, and give back to the community!
4th week down, 2 more to go. Keep it up Titans!
