This is the last week of build season. Our robot, soon to be named, is nearing completion. Our frame is completely welded, and by the end of the day it will be painted. It has been a fun build season, and we are finally ready for competition. The only items left on our to-do list are to prepare for our annual Roll-Out, fix any kinks in our robot, and put on our game faces for competition! Be sure to come out to the Robotics Room on February 20th at 5:30 P.M. for Roll-Out!
As we approach our final week, we have completed our practice robot, as well as begin work on the final prototype. The frame was created using an Arc Welder. We are currently testing all of the mechanisms for the robot. For the first year in history, our robot has the ability to climb! We are preparing ourselves for the final stretch.
With only two weeks left in season, our robot is nearly complete due to the hard work of our dedicated members. Compared to previous years, we are ahead of schedule and our final robot should be completed soon. This week, we have cut out and built all the metal pieces for the robot frame, and we have created the final mechanisms for the robot.
This week we also visited Carver Elementary School to spread the message of FIRST. The children of Carver happily operated our t-shirt cannon and our previous year’s robot, CerTified.
